I checked into these. RUN AWAY FROM THIS ONE...unless you want to work on some cabinets. All speakers are terribly scratched, dented, nicked and vinyl/veneer is peeling. Velo is pretty beat up. One of the 1000i also has a chunk of the base missing (from being dropped).

This is a 17 year old girl (English-speaking contrary to what her ad might lead you to believe) trying to sell these that "she got from a friend" to pay for a new motor for a Mustang she just bought to replace the Corolla just just destroyed...and probably to help fund dad's Bose habit.

I just hate the CL "window shoppers" that act interested, but never follow through.

Alot of times they don't follow through because they ask for more information and the seller doesn't give it to them. So they get suspicious and don't respond back. I've done that countless times to people because they refuse to give anymore information about what they are selling. Or if they are selling something high priced and only have super crappy pictures I ask for better pictures and say I can't even come look at it unless you represent it better and give a better picture.

It all depends on location as well. Alot of window shoppers find something they want but they determine it's just too far away to go get even though they want it.

Thats the whole reason I love craigslist...I get to see what I am interested in purchasing BEFORE laying down any cash. Sounds like you had the same experience I had when I went to go see the SRT system in Reno....just too much damage for me to take them.

The words "damaged" and "SRT" should never be in the same sentence. Single tear...

100% agreed...I ask ? before going forward too.

    also in agreement...

I'll clarify my blanket statement, since I do some window shopping myself. I hate the people that send you an email saying I want to come buy your stuff...you say bring it on...and then the crickets. Ok to shop/ask/pry if you may have even the slightest intention to buy if it's all good, but why send an "intent to buy" email (without qualifying questions) for something you really don't have any intention of ever buying?
