Common ground? Seems like some of the Carvers are not.
-
think only the M500 in non common ground, most others are, including this oneDodd - Battery Preamp

Great amp, dollar a watt. Voice to sound indistinguishable from the fabled Levinson ML-2 (a John Curl design)
Almost no brainer category. Still wish that I had mine.
Common ground, SDA friendly.

I have this amp and it's a beast!
Snatch it up folks!
JohnNo excuses! -
I have 2 of them that need to be repaired. I thought about selling them, though, to get an M-4.0t, TFM-4.0t or TFM-45. What does everyone do when you want to power it up? Is the M-1.5t current sensing on the RCA's when it sees a signal from the preamp?Richard? Who's your favorite Little Rascal? Alfalfa? Or is it........................Spanky?.................................Sinner.

There is no power switch (or signal detection) I think Carver was expecting you to use the switched power outlet of the Carver preamps to turn this model on and off.Dodd - Battery Preamp

Nope. You plug it in, it's on.~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~

So, when it's used thru the switched output of the preamp, it won't have that turn on/off thump or pop?Richard? Who's your favorite Little Rascal? Alfalfa? Or is it........................Spanky?.................................Sinner.

The only Carver amp that ever thumped in one of my systems, was a dog M1.0t. And I've used a few different Carver amps. Couldn't get that thing out of the house fast enough. Never a thump with M1.5t.

H9 - the plan is to take my SDA-2A's over to daboyz house and let him hear those powered by his new Carver amp. And Muuuhaaahaaa he will be assimilatedDKG999

Looks like his 2 ch rig is half way there :D. What would he do without our influence?
