ok, please bare with me as i don't know much about hifi, i recently purchased the new surroundbar50, i was running one of those cd test discs and the disc is telling me that there is a problem with the speaker polarity, which of course means i hooked up the speaker wrong. I have the surroundbar50 hooked up to a 5 channel sunfire power amp.I know i have everything at the surroundbar50's end hooked up proper as they made it dummy proof with all the different colours. My sunfire power amp's speakers terminals are red and black per speaker channel, i have every black speaker wire coming from the surroundbar50 going into the black terminals of the sunfire, i assumed the black from one end would go with the black on the other end, then i have the rest of the colours going into the red terminals. this is producing reverse polarity. Before i get back there and change everything around i wanted to make sure that a cd that would test for polarity might indeed show a result of reverse polarity due to it being like 5 speakers in one box, can someone please advise me on this.
Thank you for reading
Regards

I'm not an expert on the Soundbar, however, It appears to me that the Soundbar manipulates phase in order to produce a sense of directionality. This could possibly render the results of a test CD inconclusive. ---- Just a guess, really, but trust your ears more than you trust the disc; and make sure that the speaker designation as well as polarity are all linear.

    Welcome to the forum
Just a suggestion, but you might want to repost the question under 'troubleshooting' thread, which is a direct line to Polk's customer service(in case you don't get an answer here?)
    Good luck

if you have everything hooked up correctly.. then that's all you can do. If a test CD is telling you something else.. then that's very weird. As you said, wiring up the SurroundBar is dummy proof.

Where did you get this CD from ? is it a multichannel CD or just a stereo left and right channel CD?

A sincere thank you to everyone who has responded to my post. I doubled and triple checked my connections, everything is hooked up proper.
Here is what the disc does, i'm gonna copy and paste this.
7 sound optimization tools are included on the disc to optimize the sound quality of your stereo system:

Stereo Image and Channel ID Check - Verifies left/right speaker setup

Polarity Check - Verifies if positive/negative setup of stereo is correct.

Sweep Test - Verifies speaker operation.

ProLogic Imaging and Channel ID Check - Verifies optimal surround sound

System Balance Check - Adjusts speaker levels to optimum volume

Rattle Test - Determines if vibrations exists

System Purity Test - Verifies no unwanted interference in system

My system passed all the tests except for the polarity one, The polarity test is done by the disc playing 2 soundbites, it says if the second sound bite clearly sounds LOUDER than the first sound, the polarity is incorrect. The second soundbite was clearly louder to my ears.

Beyond that i don't what else to say, i emailed my post to customer service a few days ago, i'm awaiting a response, thank you for your time.
