Is any one using, or have opinions on the SA8260?

I need to upgrade my CD player, and this would be at the top end of what I can spend ($550).

Is there something else I should be considering in this price range?

Thanx

It's a nice player and can be found for less than <450 on the used market.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Yeah, I've looked at them before. You can get one for around $450 shipped from Agon in most cases.

Good luck. Seems to be a very solid player with very good reviews.

I hope you like it as much as I do mine. Very neutral sonics, nice DAC performance for both redbook usage and SACD.

They are prone to some software glitches that misread discs, but Marantz can help with new firmware. Mine seems to lose where its at if left powered up overnight, which requires cycling it off/on, but for the $$$ used, nothing beats it on the market today even 6 years later.
