Ok, I've been reading up, and cannot for the life of my figure this out. I bought a RM10/PSW10 kit and cannot get the sub to work. My AV receiver is a Yamaha HTR-6090 and I've got it hooked in to the sub out rca jack. I'm running a y splitter... no sound. I've manually gone in, set it to sfr in the sound settings, set the speakers to small, set the the sub volume to highest on the sub, highest on the AVR settings... what else am I not doing? HELP!!!!

Is there an LED on the sub to let you know its on? Is it red or green?
Is subwoofer set to 'Yes' in the Yammie settings? -
The green led is on on the sub... in the yamaha menu, there's a speaker setup, and I have it set for a system with a sub... I've tried playing with the lfe and crossover frequencies and still nothing...

When using the YPAO (yamaha pro. acoustic optimizer) in automatic mode, does it recognize the presence of the sub. meaning when it sends sounds through each speaker and finally to your sub do you hear anything?Pioneer VSX-1016TXV-K AVR

Welcome to the forum,
Some more things you can try, to determine if the sub or recvr is bad
1. Go to the local hardware store and pick up a continuity tester- like $6.00, and check the sub out cable to see if it's good.(The directions are on the back)
2. Wire the sub the 'Polk way'. (front L & R via the sub) This'll determine if it's the 'sub out' ch. on the rcvr is bad.
3. You mentioned a 'Y splitter' on the sub out ch.? are you splitting the sub out ch. into the L&R sub in ch.? If so, take the sub out and go directly to the R ch. on the sub,(no 'Y')
good luck & let us know how/ if you make outI refuse to argue with idiots, because people can't tell the DIFFERENCE!
