Interesting flick split up into several sections about the Federal Reserve, 9/11 and astrological ties to religion. If you're into conspiracies, this will be right up your alley. I really liked the Federal Reserve stuff and the history behind it.

Even if you don't agree with the topics, it's worth watching."He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." Friedrich Nietzsche

Very good conspiracy documentary. I ordered the DVD for $5 'cause I hate watching a movie on a computer. The first section about religion was well documented. I thought it was the best part.HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

Actually the first part contains the most factual and historical inaccuracies. Even it's creator said that not much of it is true, he just created it and put things together in a way to get people thinking.
It's interesting, but at the end of the day it's just another conspiracy movie. It's been thoroughly debunked and talked about for months. -

OK, then you should have no problem substantiating your claim by providing several fact-based examples of what was included in this section that was historically inaccurate.HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

I don't want to start a debate or **** on the thread, my point was to nudge folks to question the movie and research the 'facts' themselves instead of just falling into the conspiracy that is Zeitgeist the movie. One only needs to do a little research on Horus and Krishna to find that the similarities between them and Jesus stated in the movie are for the most part, made up. A quick google search or trip to the library will give anyone the info they need. The makers of the movie site no sources to back up these claims. There are many sources to the contrary though.
I will say that I probably shouldn't have used the words 'facts' or 'history', considering that the context of part 1 of the movie is religion and myth. I suppose there are no real facts or proven history in that context.
Interesting and thought provoking movie, but should be put on the same shelf as Michael Moore movies. I always try to see things objectively, and stuff like that with such a strong bias or lack of balance are a bit disenchanting IMO. -

Fair enough.
I've been researching religion for the past 20 years, so I'm quite familiar with the evidence provided in Zeitgeist. [I'm ashamed to admit it, but I was a philosophy major.] I can tell you, without a doubt, that Horus and Krishna share many of the same major attributes as Jesus. For instance, Horus, who predates Jesus by at least two thousand years, was immaculately conceived by Isis and his father was Osiris, a personification of God as man, thus Horus was considered the "son of God."
There are countless books on the subject of the similarities among a variety of ancient "deities." I think the documentary also mentioned two scholars, in particular -- Albert Churchward and Gerald Massey. You can also check out E.A. Wallis Budge, the most prolific Egyptologist, who has addressed this issue, as well.
It's not difficult to imagine why similarities among "deities" would occur. A modern example would be the concept of Santa Claus. St. Nick has different names, myths, customs, attributes, etc., depending upon what part of the world you come from. However, the principle of Santa is similar in most localities.
Many of us are well aware of the challenges that exist between our religious beliefs and historical fact. Hell -- the phrase "religious beliefs" imply that facts aren't necessary. You gotta admit, though -- there's no historical evidence for the birth of Jesus as December 25th, so you gotta wonder where that came from. I think the documentary addressed it very well. I ain't saying it's true, but I haven't run across a better answer to that question.HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

That link, tune out the 9/11 conspiracy garbage, is pretty interesting at least. BC history has always made more sense to me than what comes in your hotel room drawer. Nice story but I've read it before.
