It has an optical out, digital out as well as your RCA out's. The PC can be swapped [original PC included] and this unit responds well to PC changes. Trust me when I say that she's burned in. This player has been featured at Carverfest, Polkfest and has been A/B'd against many a player with pretty impressive results. So far in my travels and comparisons the only CDP's that have a more impressive sound has been that of tube CDP's, which is the only reason this thing is even for sale. I want to try a tube front end.

It reads MP3's, CDA's, WMA's [don't ask because I don't know], CDRW's and CDR's. The entire time I have had it I have yet to have a CD skip. This CDP has no transport. Simply lift the lid, insert the CD into a spring loaded spindle which firmly snaps the CD into place, lower the lid and and play*. Even though I never used the function, it is programmable. Sale includes the remote.

My only **** about this CDP is that it spells initalizing, "initialising". Oh well. Blame that on the Brit's.

*What this unit does is read the encoding off of the CD and reads it four times. Then it chooses the best way to correct each error to give you the best sound possible. So, keep in mind if you want a player for convenience, do not purchase this unit. It will read / correct the CD and it will play when "it's" ready which is usually in 8 seconds. If you want this unit because you want good sound......
