Mirage Omni S-8 subwoofer

Does anyone have any experience/knowledge/feedback in regards to this Mirage sub?

I have gotten so many BB gift certificates this year, that instead of buying a bunch of junk, I could pick up one of these online and call it a day. Keep in mind that I don't currently have a sub at all, so I would expect anything to be an improvement....

That being said, is this thing worth it? If it were cash coming out of my pocket, I'd wait. But this would basically be free, so I am tempted to get a sub added to my system asap (long overdue.)

edit: The living room of our house is fairly small, so it's not going to have to work its @ss off to shake the room. My current speakers are:

RTi-10's and CSi-3 up front.
Fxi-3's are pending for rears.

I was in the Magnolia part of Best Buy about a year ago and listened to either this one or the S-10 (can't remember which), and I was impressed. I like it better than the PSW 303 I did get, but I was being cheap. Although my favorites at Best Buy are the definitives. I still want to hear a Def Tech and one of the Polk DSW subs side by side. I suspect they will sound similar.

I have the Mirage Omni S-12. I can't think of a better sub for the price I got it for. It was half off at Tweeter $399 instead of $799, and I somehow was able to put $200 polk money towards it, and some other discount. Ended up costing me like $181 out the door.

It is beautiful looking (much better finish than SVS in my opinion), hits super hard, is fast, articulate, has front controls to change gain, phase, etc., heavy duty 5-way bindings in back. It's awesome. Never going to sell it.

So, if you can get the S-8 for a good deal, I'm sure it will be much the same, only smaller. Build quality is fantastic, and I'm sure the 8 inch will be great for a smaller room. Mine is total overkill in my apartment, but I don't care. 300 Watts RMS and 1200 dynamic.
