Ok so now that I've been fortunate enough to join the rest of you Wii owners I decided to give it a whirl with the kids. Been playing Mario Galaxy since yesterday and the game is very addicting. I thought using both the Wii-mote and Nunchuck would be hard but its pretty easy to control. A second player can use a Wii-mote to assist player one in jumping, and pointing at the screen to collect stars since there's so many of them. Graphics are very good for what the Wii has to offer. A big thumbs up title and a very cool co-op game. Next up to buy is the Mario/Sonic olympics so if any of you have played it, post up.

My boys had played Olympics non stop for about 10 days before Christmas. In fact I had joined to fun too, and really liked the game a lot. They loved it. Very easy interface for each event, and there is an explanation on what exactly to do before each event. Some events obviously take longer to master, but they are addicting, so replaying them over and over again is very fun.

A solid 9/10 from me. My one star deduction is that I wish you could choose normal people, or use you Mii. Your only choices are Mario/Sonic characters. I know thats the game, but I would have loved to choose someone else.

Don't get the winter Olympics, much harder and just not as fun.

Then I'll definitely pick it up then. And those Mii people are pretty cool. My question to you is, How do I join or create a Mii parade? Just wanting to know whats that all about.

It's been a while since I played around with the parade, minor errors are probable.

You need to be linked with someone else's Wii for this to work. When they make a new Mii, there is an option to make the Mii shareable or something like that. Any or all of the share-enabled Miis will then show up in your Mii parade. The only exception is if they created a Mii and sent it to you, then it won't ever show up in the parade. Obviously, this works the other way as well, anything you create can show up in his parade. The more people you link your Wii with, the more options you have for Miis showing up in your parade.

+1 on Super Mario Galaxy, haven't played it a lot with my daughter yet but what we did play ws a lot of fun. In-laws showed up early though so probably won't get to play much until they leave. How do you assist in jumping? The 2nd player can also shoot the collected bits at enemies to stun them and freeze some enemies like the big rolling balls in place, making it easier for Mario to get around them.

Also got it for X-mas. Very, very addicting and reminds me a LOT of the many hours that I spent getting all 120 stars in Mario 64. I don't know if this was billed as a true "sequel" to Mario 64 or not, but it is exactly how I remember that game being and Galaxy is made all the better by the use of the Wii-mote.

The funny thing is, I've been excited to play Twilight Princess, which I also got for X-mas, but I've been spending all of my time with Galaxy!

2nd player can assist Mario in jumping by pointing the Wii-mote at Mario and pressing A. My daughter was playing with me and had me jumping all over the place. From fear of dying, I said" Honey, let daddy do the jumping around, you just collect the stars and stop the cannon balls."

Oh yeah I think most of us are grown men playing this stuff, I'm 30.

Just got some christmas cash so when (or if:rolleyes:) the wii is plentiful, I'll snag one and mario galaxy will be on top of my list. I haven't played it yet but heard its as good as mario 64. I was disappointed with mario sunshine so I'm glad Nintendo is getting back on track with galaxy.

Im getting pretty far on this game, and its getting pretty amazing as you go along, some cool things to see. Wait until you guys see Mario Ice skating and you use the Wii-Mote to put him into skate mode, awesome.

Im letting mine play as well, you're definitely better off playing in 2 player coop mode, freezing cannonballs, collecting stars, and the like really does help.

I don't know if it's as good as mario 64, but so far so fun (I think mario 64 could be one of the greatest games ever, and I have been looking for something to match it. Sunshine was good, but didn't really match 64. This one comes much closer).

I also have olympics, but it starts to hurt my wrists (I think I'm getting to old for the constant fast hand shaking [45 over here]).
