First of all, I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself to the forum. I have never posted, but have been viewing for awhile.
Now for the question. I am ready to upgrade my current. 7.1 HT system. I have a middle/ higher end Sony 100 watt reciever that I will be replacing shortly. Front's are Polk RT600i's, Csi 3 center, sides are FXI30's, and rears are Infinity SM's(bookshelf). I would like to spring for the new A7's. Are these really power hungry like the Rti 10's & 12's? Eventually this spring, I would like to replace my receiver with a Sony ES STR-DA4300ES. Never have had the ES line. At this point I will biamp the A7's using the rear amp and drop to a 5.1 I see most of you use an amp instead of a reciever. I would like some knowledge on why, and possibly a better ideas on some hookups. I have never used an amp, only recievers. My 600's have ok bass, but the 12 year old Advent powered sub makes up for this. I will be bumping that up to a PSW110 if I pick up the A7's. Should I look at the A7's or the A5's. I notice not many people post on the new series. Sorry this is so long and boring. I just want some help starting. I have done HT for over 12 years, just never to the level you guys have taken.
Thanks.
Paul:)
