HK, or Denon. You don't need to get hung up on watts. 50 watts HK is better than the 110 watts Yamaha I had.
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks
    Ben

I would go with Denon or Pioneer Elite...The HK preforms great, but I'm not a fan of how they look....Call me shallow..:p

http://us.marantz.com/Products/2080.asp this looks like a pretty decent powerful Marantz receiver. If I were in the market for a new receiver for home theater, i'd look at this. don't let the price scare you off.. that's MSRP, I bet you could find it for under a grand somewhere online.

    HDMI (V1.2) Repeating: 2-In/1-Out
    Up-Conversion (w/TBC) to HDMI with 480I/480P Converter
    Current Feedback Amplification
    XM-Ready with Discrete IR Commands
    Dolby Virtual Speaker
2nd Zone Audio Output (Individual source)
Audyssey Auto Calibration (Optional microphone is needed)
    Stereo/Mono Switching for 2nd Zone
    RS-232C Control
    IR Flasher Input
    DC Trigger Output
    New Shallower Chassis (<16”)
    100W x7-Ch Discrete Amp

what they are calling 700 watts is actually 100 watts times 7 channels. so each channel is only 100watts max.
