That will help that is what my ipod has. but simply because it says that is bypasses the amp it rely doesn't because it still has to amplify it some how to get audio. But it does help you will notice it sounds "compressed" and lacks some bass. I notice it and I only have monitor 40's and a psw10 sub hope this helps good luck.

I guess it won't sound as good as I was hoping for.

Reason being - compared to a dedicated CDP, every iPod/MP3 player I've heard through the system sounds awful (I always ask my friends to bring over their iPods and none of them sound good).

I thought the Zune had great sound quality, but I guess I am wrong then.

Ya there is just to much crammed into the mp3 players to have a good amp it is almost like connecting a pair of kef to a insignia receiver. Just doesn't sound good. Sorry man but when you are ready for something that stays with you system than you can get some good sound. O try one more thing if your friends have ipods they may have the built in EQ on go into settings and play around with that or turn it off.

I still might give the Zune a try though, as our very own Trey uses a Zune with his system. The only thing is that he's got great amps (Odyssey Monos) and great speakers (Taylo 7U's) so that might be the reason why his Zune sounds good.
