Guys i have a CDA-9887 and for using the imprint module, i have to buy the Alpine KTX-100EQ, but now Alpine have two new models, the CDA-9884 and the CDA-9886.

the CDA-9884 and the CDA-9886 requires the PXA-H100 instead of the KTX-100EQ that the 9887 uses, why is that?

i was planing on buy the CDA-9886 for my other car, but now i would have to buy also the PXA, instead of using the same KTX-100EQ in both HUs (i have to spend double).

whats the difference between those 2 models, and why Alpine does the "same thing" but with different names, now i have to buy 2 of them instead of just one of them.

does anyone knows anything about this???

The CDA-9886 does not have any type of built in processing like the CDA-9887. The PXA-H100 will give the 9886 the same processing that the 9887 has, plus the ability to use the imprint automatic setup.

As to why they have different modules....I do not know.

With the 9887 you just plug the imprint module into the front of the receiver. With this it seems that you can't do that as it has the a connection port on the actual imprint unit.

Crutchfield had the CDA9884 and CDA9886 in stock you can probably read reviews there. The 9886 takes the place of the 9885 and the 9884 takes the place of the 9883.
The 9887 is still the better unit.
