Full Symphony Benchmark

I've got Jazz at the Pawn Shop, Dire Straights Private Investigations, the Eagles and a variety of other great jazz and rock'ish recordings... But I don't have any symphony..
What would you recommend as the benchmark recording for a full symphony? I was just reading a thread discussing recommended speakers for playing symphony music and someone mentioned you need speakers that can move a lot of air. Well, Sounds like there must be some pretty dynamic recordings out there, which I'd like to experience.
Anybody have some recommendations?

Sure, Aaron, there're many classical symphonic recordings which combine great music with excellent dynamic sound. Also, a lot of them are available at quite low cost, so that a little starter collection can be had very reasonably. My suggestion would be The Planets , The Rite of Spring , Carmina Burana , Roman Festivals and Swan Lake , totalling about $32 with free shipping.

Aaron, check CircuitCity, they have quite a few classical cds as low as $2.99. I've been going to the library and picking out cds to try before you buy. Surprisingly excellent amount of good choices. I know you're out of city but may be worth looking into.
