I'm finishing up my first good system, and a sub is the last thing I need. I think I have it narrowed it down to one of these two, pb13 ultra or pb12 plus/2. Common sense tells me the ultra being their top of the line is probably better, but the plus/2 with two 12's has to sound awesome and is $400 cheaper. Any opinions on these or is there another brand I should look at?
My system so far is an onkyo 805, rti10's, rti6's, csi5, and two Outlaw 2200's.

the plus/2 will have equal output down to 20hz, anything lower than that the Ultra wins hands down. If the budget allows go for the Ultra, though Im sure you'd be happy with a plus/2 as well.

Thanks for the input. I kind of figured the ultra would be suggested.

It's 1:30 Xmas morning and I'm pretty high on SPIRIT. Dual Pluses will give you slightly more pressurization in a medium to large room than the new Ultra. A single Plus/2, perhaps slightly more above 35hz or so. The Ultra13 will give you spot on bass detail for music and HT with high levels of SPL. I can't say I don't miss my dual Pluses for some HT, but I traded it with no regrets for the SQ of the Ultra13. I didn't lose SPL, just a bit of pressurization...gained more than a bit of impact.

There's no wrong choice, get what fits your budget and mindset. Music first, Ultra, HT first, then think about it.

    Combo rig:

Onkyo NR1007 pre-pro, Carver TFM 45(fronts), Carver TFM 35 (surrounds)
    SDA 1C, CS400i, SDA 2B
    PB13Ultra RO
    BW Silvers
    Oppo BDP-83SE
