Am I correct in thinking the SDA SRSs use the blade/blade interconnect?
Thanks & Merry Christmas.

What is the significance of the blade/blade vs. pin/blade?
Were the TL's pin/blade but non TL's blade/blade?
I'm on the hunt for decent 1.2's in my area when I saw that ebay listing. I thought the question odd but realized I had no idea of the significance of the answer.
Can someone please enlighten me?
Sorry BrettT1, Not stealing your thread, I just thought this would be an "on topic" addition to your thread. -
as i understand it.. with the blade/blade, both blades carry a signal, with the pin/blade, only the pin carries a signal.. and the blade is just there for support.. kind of for moral support.
Everyone has their favorite SDA's.... but don't pass up a pair of SRS's just because they are none TL models. FYIPolkFest 2012, who's going>?
Vancouver, Canada Sept 30th, 2012 - Madonna concert  -
Thanks guys for the reply.
My dad had a pair of 2.3's back in the 90's. Good god, those things were incredible.
I'm now married and own a house that can support a pair of SDA's. After much negotiating with the wife I am slowly getting the funding available to purchase my own set. She has never heard them and I don't have the words to explain how good they sound. (Dad had to sell his after the divorce.)
Of course, she has no idea about all the money it will cost to drive the speakers but, we win wars one battle at a time... -
The original SRS used the blade/blade. The number series (1.2/2.3/1.2TL, etc) used the bin/blade. For common-ground amps the pin carries the only signal, but if you use an isolation transformer like the AI-1 the blade acts as the negative.
The SRS is a different speaker design at the detail level compared to the later models. The later ones are all very similar to each other, other than tweeter and minor crossover changes. -
Sorry BrettT1QUOTE]
No apology necessary. I hope to get some 1.2s in the future also and have an AI-1 interconnect I plan to use with them. I can't use it on the SRS model.
Can you use non common ground amps with the original SRSs?
