As dumb luck would have it, I just noticed my parents have a PSW250 sitting unused in their house. I realize you don't need to worry about timber matching for subwoofers, but how would this unit work with my RT5000s?

Is it worth shipping it to my house?

No comments on the 250? Does anyone have it? Considering the RT3000s already have a powered subwoofer in them, do you think the 250s will be sufficient to round out the bass?

I can't answer your question exactly but I can comment on the sub. I had that same model at one time and was not very immpressed with it.

I have not heard the rt5000's but I have heard the rt2000s and in my opinion I thought the bass was very weak for haveing a powered sub in therm. But in the end it's up to you. Do you think the bass is lacking in your system? If so it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to try it out. Depending how far away your parents live it probably wouldn't be to expensive. I think when I shipped mine to who ever bought it, the shipping was no more than $30.00. I can't recall the carrier though. Might have been usps.

it wouldn't hurt to add it to your RT5000 set up. but more than likely, the subs in your system are already better then the small PSW250. try it.. it may just fill in any gaps in your system. couldn't hurt.
