At Comp USA.....And it sounded..........HORRIBLE!!!!!!

Granted it wasn't in an optimum listening situation, but it sucked bad...terrible highs, flat mids and flabby boomy bass.

My HT is a...
Pioneer Elite Vsx80txv
Oppo 981
M10b's
Rt/Fx's
Csi3
Philips 50" plasma

Everything was new except the Rt/Fx's (ebay like new) I paid 500 bucks less for everything, and to say it blows the Bose system out of the water would be an understatement.

Obviousy it's nothing really fancy, but I paid less than what the Bose was going for...Enough less that when finally I buy the sub finally I decide on in Feb (around 500 bucks), it'll be about equal in price.

Damn, I Knew I didn't like Bose from past experiences, but I didn't remember how bad it was.

I hate to sound like a groupie, but I knew there was a good reason I try to stick with Polk.
My equipment sig felt inadequate and deleted itself.

It was a joke. Do you really think I consider disliking a new $2K bose system a non-audiophile act?? :D

Everything I would ever expect from Bose. Sounds like things haven't changed.

Considering what you can get for the same $ at Polk, it's not even close.
Basically, MY system, including the recvr, and dvd player was $2K

i had got some bose once. a great deal i thought, cause they were cheap from someone i know. i brought them home. hooked them up. the next day i put them in the garage unhooked. unless there for free i wouldnt even put them in my trunk. sorry to say but they are not allowed in our house. this was told to me by my wife. and i totally agree. i have 3 children ive outfitted with stereo systems. NOT a BOSE in the house....ive heard so many negative things about them over the years. they are RIGHT....period

My friend got back from a Bose showroom and said they has some kinda Bose plasma with all these speakers built in. He then started to tell me that they had invented systems to get a full surround sound with just 2 speakers lol and he was deadly serious.

When I went to Yellow stone national park in the summer I stayed over in a little town called Gardner and all 4 bars there had Bose sound systems. I think it ruined my time in the bar and I blame the polk forum

    I doubt that...

Once knew a guy that side by side tested a set of SDA SRS 1.2tl's with Bose 901's. He said they sounded very close and had a tough time deciding between the two.

As a side note, the SDA's were never connected. As a matter of fact, they were still in the shipping boxes.
    No excuses!

No problem. Made up a HT system for the daughter and SIL using R15's for side- and back surrounds. Not a system you'd want to proclaim using neon signs on the front lawn, but they got the job done for HT in a respectable fashion.

And Strong Bad, you do realize that's going to leave a burn mark. :loneranger:
