okay okay.. i have lsi 9, all around with lsic. my buddies run b&w 802d and another has 803d also b&w. processors are all the same, my friends and i, rotel 1066, amp, that i use is adcom, my friends classe.... now tell me this.. i dont know if there is something wrong with my hearing, or what, but i can see no difference with bi wiring or not. not only my speakers but when done on my friends as well. i could see no mathematical numbers that can show me that bi wiring will make the speakers sound better or more detailed or more control of them.. someone, please explain to me, the science behind bi wire.. is it really night and day.. i just need to close this topic in my mind for several years now.. tks.. any audiophile let me know.. i am open to input, and assistance in doing this right..

I'm not sure bi-wiring does much other then decrease the ga of the speaker wire. i think there are some amps with two sets of binding posts meant specifically for bi wiring, maybe you'd hear a difference with those. I've done it and didn't hear a difference but i left it like that anyway just because i had the extra wire hanging around.

My understanding is that high frequency signals have a tendency to travel along the very outside surface of the wire. This is called "skin effect." In essence you can either have wires for the high frequencies that have super-smooth surfaces, i.e. AQ "perfect surface" solid wires or run smaller gauge wires and/or stranded wires to reduce and/or distribute the skin effect.

The lower frequencies tend to travel toward the center of the conductor so you want larger gauges since they tend to need more current and/or voltage.

Bi-wiring allows you to tweak those wires to be more specialized.

Personally, I think AQ approach sounds best to my ears. Stranded wires seems to have a bit of hash or fuzziness in the high frequencies. That's just my opinion on the sound and my understanding of the theory. I run 2 amps, so I have no choice but to bi-wire. :)
