I just downloaded the owner's manual and it doesn't list the outer diamter of the sub! I am still waiting on my subs to get here and because of x-mas shipping they won't be here for a while I assume. I really wanna get started on the box, so can anyone tell me what the outside diameter of the Mom 8" sub is? Thanks in advance!

I think its an 8" outer diameter. The cutout/mounting diameter is 7-1/16" (17.94cm)
But once you get the subs, they should come with a ring that you can use to trace your circle for the cutout diameter as well as the outside diameter -
Thanks for the reply. I was hoping to get started on my box before the subs came in, but they got here today...all 6 of them.

I love it when the delivery person shows up with a bunch of stuff. I get really excited like a child during Christmas

I love it too!! I went through and tested all 6 subs and that was fun. I also calculated my airpsace and baffle size and I may be able to fit two more!!

I haven't start building the box yet, just got my wires ran and I don't take pictures of them....kinda boring...lol. I'll get started on the box next week and take some pics. I am currently debating on my front stage. I have some DLS UR6i mids and Dynaudio MD100 tweets, but I am thinking of springing for a Polk SR 6.5" set and actively amplifying them.

Sounds like a promising setup -
Well, I built the box today. If everything goes right I can get it mocked up in the truck and start making the trim pieces for it. After the trim pieces are done, it will be time for body work and vinyl...yay!! I'll get some pics of the box up ASAP.

glad to hear everything is coming along ok

Thanks, I am hoping to get ALOT done tomorrow! -
AS promised, some build pictures. It's going slow, but I want everything to look great, so it's just gonna take time.
Front of box...to give you an idea how big it is, that's a yardstick laying in front of it.

Side View...it's stepped to fit behind the seat of my Crew Cab GMC Sierra and I added a small trim panel to fit flush to the window.

Here's a front shot with the sub holes layed out. I am gonna cut them tomorrow.

And here's my head unit, Alpine 9887. I used a regular double DIN kit and then laser cut a piece of ABS to do an ISO DIN mount.

I already have the amp rack started, but I didn't take any pics of that yet. I am hoping to get that done tomorrow.
Here's the bracket I made for my fuse holders one is for 1/0 gauge and one is for 2 gauge.

I try! Thanks!! -
to answer the original question--I just measured the templates and it's cut-out diameter + (1.15cm x 2). hth though it's a little bit too late. :-P
