They look like 1.2TLs, or RDOd earlier models. That's a frightening steal.

    If you like old SDA's.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Or if you don't, and want to make an easy $1,500 - $2,000 ;)

I don't plan to own another pair, ever. I need to move on with my life.

I'm about to be thinking the same way.

    Which way would you suggest?
    polkaudio SRS (rdo194 x 8)
    Dodd ELP (separate power supply)
    JC 1 blocks ( strapped )
    Rega Apollo
    MIT (speaker cables) Outlaw (ICs)

polkaudio SDA2(rdo194x4) (front) polkaudio CRS (rdo194x4)(rear) polkaudio 400i (center)
    B&K 505

Just got off the phone with the guy....had them in there for 400..no bites....lowered to 200...no bites....put 175 and 1 guy called and said it was a bit much for them so he gave them to him for 100 dollars. 1 speaker perfect..second speaker had 1 torn mid/woof and a 1 inch snag in the grill right where that mid/woof was...other then that great as well.

After a couple other pics and a good grilling by me (Guy was cool as hell ) they were 1.2tl's ( Pin/blade...dark metallic looking tweeters with what he described as allen/star screws...RDO's have philips screws..etc ) that worked perfect when given to him by a friend who was moving away...HE tore the one mid/woof and small part of the grill during the move to his house. Damn thats gotta be the record...nice 1.2tl's for 100 bucks.

I think part of his problem was he advertised them in the general catagory...not electronics.

It's the wrong time of the year to sell big stuff like that. I've been working on clearing out the listening room for the last few months and buying instantly stopped a couple weeks ago.

But still, even in general on CL I can't believe no one snapped those things up. There's a pair on eBay right now around $2200 with bids.

It seems the trend is that these dont go very high here on the west coast ( Well Calif...where I constantly look ) ...I mean my last 3 sets of the big boys were mint and were 500...600...and 750 all 3 were considered steals by other forum members here but in the last month or 2 I have seen more of these in the 300 to 800 dollar range so it seems I paid western going rate really.

I am going to a house today on behalf of another member to photogragh/inspect/listen to a set of 2.3tl's for 950...either the guy goes down in price or I contact the other listing at the moment here for 450 ( Taking other cl ad with me today )

Did you tell him he gave away 800-2000 dollars, or were you in more of the Christmas spirit, and left well enough alone?

I'd say the dumber people are the ones who saw that ad as it went from $400, to $200, to $175 without buying them.

Looks like he had the left and right speakers on the wrong sides and right up against the wall. I hope someone tells him to put the left speaker on the other left.

Nope they were correct for those particular 2.3's...the backs were labeled as well correctly by polk...the donut 6513's are supposed to be flanking the walls ( I have the SAME pair as these and checked mine as well...they are correct ) .

Now HIS placement of them had a lot to be desired....but he got the lefty/righty correct.

John, Did you buy them?, Has the seller lowered his price?

I was pretty good at the haggling and it stalled when I got to the 500 region...he knows they are not worth 950 now and that they are worth more then 500....so the window is somewhere inbetween 600 and 950. I didnt think Wes would still be interested since they were not tl's but in fact he is...so when those 2 guys finish pricing them out in that window...I can go back and get them for him if he likes.

They are in great condition as well....

Here are mine before picking them up at the sellers.....you can see they were on the correct sides of the non-used fireplace in a non-used room( Thankfully what kept them in so good of shape ) The donut 6513's go to the farmost left and farmost right when positioning.

I offered $750. He wants a day to think about. We'll see. I'll call him back tomorrow afternoon irregardless. I almost went 800, but I figured he would counter-offer to $825 or $850 and we could split the difference. We'll see....
