I was thinking about replacing my main stereo speakers which are now the 1C to the Rti 12...I would move the 1C to the TV thing.
But the one person who said anything about it ...said forget the 12, stay with your 1C.
Is the i 12..not even close....what? you don't get the same volume, are they just...NOT as good?????? Whats the story on these??????

    English Please.

Then we might be able to help you.

    Thanks
I like speakers that are bigger than a small refrigerator but smaller than a big refrigerator:D

There is no way I would trade my 1C's for the 12's. But it's all personal preference. Why not go listen to a pair?

I have no experience with the 12's but I am extremely impressed with the 1C's for that TV thing. All the comments on the Forum (thanks guys) convinced me the 1C's were great on 2-channel and they were not wrong. What surprised me was how good they are as mains in a 5.1 setup. They're like two mints in one.

1C's hands down. I will say that they are both completely different designs and concepts made for entirely different markets (2o years difference). Of course it's opinion, but I'd be surprised if too many suggest the RTi's over the SDA's. If you can get your ears on the RTi's in your room before deciding that's your best solution.

Since the market is different than it was 20 years ago means the products are too. That is both a positive and a negative.

SDA's are unique and didn't have peers back then and certainly don't today. My 1C's will ALWAYS be with me no matter if I decide to get different pair of speakers or not.

well I'd love to listen to them (RTi12) but there is no place that has them.
The only place is Circuit City, which they don't have that model on the floor...and tring to "Listen" to speakers in that place is useless....
So I'm basically going by what people are saying here.
I'm never going to sell my 1C's...I intend to upgrage the tweeters and replace a bad driver that I have.

But I also see there are some kind of insane sales going on...the LSi 15's are going for 840 for the pair. So at that price...I may just order them..."IF" they don't compare with the 1C's...then the LSi's go for the TV, and the 1C's stay in my 2 channel stereo setup. The price seems too good to pass up.

The LSis are another deal entirely, there are some that prefer them to SDAs...so if you have the gear to run them, I assume you do, it will be a better solution, IMO.

    Combo rig:

Onkyo NR1007 pre-pro, Carver TFM 45(fronts), Carver TFM 35 (surrounds)
    SDA 1C, CS400i, SDA 2B

    BW Silvers

Yes Ron..I have the gear to run them....but I don't get it?

If what I have, the SDA 1C's.....are better then most of the stuff Polk is putting out....why did he discontinue this model?

and the big question is the SDA 1C better then the LSi 15?????????

    And more important...WHY???????

The "Why no more SDAs" question as been addressed on several threads. You might want to do a search. In a nutshell, HT/WAF took over the market and Polk changed with the times. It's not that they don't still make great products.

15s vs SDAs is a friendly argument...apples and oranges, but both are great speakers.
