I'm not happy about the performance of my Polk R/T rear speakers in the bed room when listening to SACD music so I decide to replace them with a new pair of Polk RT25i $179 plus free 2 days shipping, may be it's still a good deal), hopefully with this change, sound will be much improved for the rear channels. Currently my bedroom system incl a Sony ES receiver, a pair of RT 55 front speakers, CS350 for center, PSW150 sub and the new RT25i will arrive soon. I may have to use one of the Polk R/T for the 6th rear channel.. Anyone have experience with the RT25i using as rear channels, please share your thoughts

I have been using Rt25's for rear with rt55's front and cs400 center for 3 years now. Excellent initial setup. I'm replacing them (rt25's) with the fxi50's soon.

    Don't trade the RT25i's for the FX50's (or, FX500i's).
Its hard to explain... but, its not an improvement.

lol i would never use dipole/bipole because i listen to 5.1 music and that would get very annoying with a indirect stereo image...blah

when litsenning to SACD and DVD-A and using the RT25i as full range speaker for rear channels, any of your guys consider to add a sub for these channels? or you consider these little burgers can hande the task?

I find no need to add a sub to the rt25i's personally. But doesn't sound like bad idea if you an extra sub lying around somewhere.

i see what ya mean....the only thing i see bad about adding a subwoofer is...if u already got a good one, if u get one less to or lesser than...bad quality it just adds distortion...lol blah d da
