Bottoming Out?

How exactly does a sub sound when it bottoms out? kinda like a blown speaker vibratting really loud???

    Depends on the speaker. Usually a thud.

    Anytime you are bottoming a speaker out you are trying to push it beyond it's limits of operation.

    i dont know, theres a few songs, hip hop that make my momos sound like Kragen gear

    Basically what is happening when a speaker bottoms out is the voice coil is hitting the back plate of the magnet. Thats why you see some subwoofers with a bump in the back of the magnet. That gives the voice coil plenty of clearence under the most demanding conditions.
