new to all this information so bare with me...went out specifically to buy the bose series 10 5.1 speaker package. have had an awsome sounding Kenwood VR606 system for years, but looking to upgrade & relocate speakers to the walls. kenwoods too big & no mounts. install rep at Circuit city lays on a spew that i get more bang for the buck & save $$ by using Polk to add to VR606. i went with it. very dismayed at first that there was minimal instruction info & no speaker wires. out of frustration over set-up choices, i came to this site. BOY...have i gotten an education!!! never really knew what all the settings & possibilities were about. just thought even sound and booming bass was the ticket. anyway, a few questions. i hooked up the sub via front channel inputs & out to front speakers. center & rears from their perspective receiver outputs. now...what is the switch on sub labeled "rev/norm" relate to? i only have "nmnl/large/off" on center output set up. only way to change settings for rest of system is via testtone adjust or distance adjust. i have been reading up on the education site, but not clear on copnfigurations. by the way...small 15x13 living room w/ plasma tv & receiver directly accross from couch/listening position against windowed wall. anyone with similar scenario? oh, rear speakers brackets would not allow speakers to face each side of couch, so i made a cool set of mounts using supplied brackets and bent threaded rods 90 degrees. sorry for runnin on but tryed to supply as much as possible. thnx for any help.

    CamaroSS,

welcome to club Polk.. I'm not the one to ask, as I'm not familiar with the Kenwood VR606 or what Polk speakers you have added so I can't be of much help. There are plenty of well informed people here that can guide you thru the set up.. check back for some replys and ask most questions if you need help.

So do you own a Camaro SS by chance? Just curious... if so... let us see it.. we love pictures of not only speakers, but muscle cars too. :)

"what is the switch on sub labeled "rev/norm" relate to?"

    Welcome to the forum.

I'm only guessing here but that switch on the sub may be the phase switch. Just set it on normal and try it out. Sit in your favorite listening position and have someone flip the switch back and forth and see if you like the sound when in one position better than in the other.

Thanx for the welcome guys. as the pros said, it took awhile listening to the new set-up to see the difference from my other system. was kinda dissappointed in bass response though. had to turn sub volume up all the way to even tell it was on. but this could be due to db & distance settings. tried changing sub from rev. to norm & back but did not see any real difference. pros say bass should come from front speakers foremost, then sub jumps in at lower frequencies. i can tell that works. just having hard time determining if i got it right. by the way, if you run the sub from speaker out puts instead of lfe from receiver, are you still gonna get true 5.1 dolby? my interpretation is no. and yes, i own a 2002 limited edition SS camaro w/ t-tops & a/t. 12,000 mi. on it. rare car due to misbuild/paint from factory. forgot to mention i added the rm6880 compact 5.1 audio system to the kenwood
