Directv upgrade?

I've got the starter converter for Directv(free) with just 2 rca's out.
I'm wondering about upgrading JUST the converter, NOT the service, to get the digital signal on audio(xm channels).
Just looking for feedback if it's worth the $100.
Also, I've had NO problems with it since install 2 years ago, and don't know about the reliability of the higher end converters.
Any feedback either way is appreciated.
Thanks:cool:

With the digital signal output you'll also get DD5.1 output during movies, so for a $100 I say it's worth it.
