RM 6880 and Onkyo TX-SR705 Optimization

Just purchased RM 6880 and Onkyo TX-SR705.

I wired these per Polk's recommendations. I had the Onkyo set up the speaker volume leveling using the supplied microphone & Onkyo's auto set-up. This routine does not set LFE levels.

A few questions:
1. Do I need to worry about setting LFE levels?
2. Do I need to make any adjustments for these categories? They are all set to 0 dB at present.
Dolby digital
DTS
Multichannel PCM
Dolby True HD
DTS-HDMA Audio
DSD

3. Apart from setting LFE, are there any other recommended adjustments that I should look into to optimize my listening experience ?

Thanks in advance.

ps I love these speakers. I am blown away by the sound quality while viewing HD video, listening to many kinds of music: classical, jazz, dance, hip-hop, African rhythm. Very versatile and sparkling sound production.

If everything is at the "0" levels currently, I would adjust the level control on the subwoofer itself to match favorably to the rest of the system. It might take playing various sources i.e. DVD, satellite/cable, etc to come up with a happy medium. You can always back it down a step at a time from the Onkyo remote control if need be. I know there's occasions where I have to do that with mine.

    Hi Goffie,

I have the same set up.

    Polk audio RM 6880
    Onkyo 805
Panasonic DMP BD 30 Blu ray.

What are your LFE settings? in the speaker config menu. Can you please clarify? Also any recommendations to tweak the settings are welcome!

    Thanks in advance.
