My wires finally corroded

My 26 cents a foot Home Depot 12awg wires are finally showing the green corrosion. I've read that copper oxide is not a good conductor, so, do I spend 5 more bucks or try to get something "better"?
Will all copper speaker wire eventually corrode? Most of the aftermarket choices do not have clear jackets so you can't see what the wire looks like after a few years.
edit: I think my rears have the OFC stuff, so they are fine.

The whole wire is corroded? Usually you can cut 6"s off each end, and still have the quality you had before. Remember electrons flow on the outsides of the wires. Especially higher frequencies.Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
Thanks

The whole things aren't corroded, just got the tarnished penny thing going on in spots. (jackets are clear so I can see the whole length of wire)

Some have commented that the clear plastic covering helps promote the corrosion issue. In fact, I've seen cables with the clear plastic covering that the entire lenght of cable had turned green.
The better cables seem to address the corrosion issue by sealing the ends and using much better teflon outer jackets.Political Correctness'.........defined
