I was curious if you could place these at ear level on a bookshelf or will that lower the surround effect? If the speaker is angled up would that help?

    Best placement is approx. 2' above the seated position if that's possible. If that's not possible, do the best you can as your room will allow. Tilting them upwards will certainly help.
