Hi Polk Audio STAFF

I recently buy a Polk Audio SR124-DVC and an Alpine PDX-1.1000 AMP
but i dont know how to wire them...

Can you guys help me?

I already read both manuals, but i dont have an answer yet..

So I create a color method, so i could be easy to understand...

This is what i think its ok (RED,BLUE,GRAY.BLACK)....

Is it ok? or am i wrong?

Ok, from what I can tell about your amp, it's stable at 2ohm, so wire it as shown below. Your amp has 2 sets of quick connect speaker outputs, you only need to use one. You do have other options, but this seems like the easiest way to go driving one subwoofer.

    Cheers,
    Russ

Yup. That amp will do 2 ohms mono all day long.

Just like Russ said, run both positives to the amps positive and both negatives to the amps negative.

    thanks guys

So i put the wires in to the extremes, but do i have to put double wire?
in the image says that it is wired by factory

    sorry for this confusion.

You need to wire the two positive terminals of the woofer to the positive terminal of the amplifer and the two negative terminals of the woofer to the negative terminal of the amp. The woofer has a jumper and it is perfectly ok to use it just make sure it wires the two positive terminals together and the two negative terminal together. The woofer has two 4ohm voice coils when you wire the like terminals together it is a parallel connection and yields a 2ohm load. I will tell you from experience that the Alpine amp may blow all 4 20amp fuses in it when you jpush it hard at two ohms. I saw a post where Alpine has raised the amperage of these fuses due to this but I cannot confirm it. I will see what I can find. I had it happen twice.

    ok thanks

so its better on 4 ohms, now how can i wire them on 4 ohms?

You can't- dual 4 ohm coils can be wired for either 2 ohms (parallel) or 8 ohms (series). The jumper wires are already in place for a 2 ohm load from the factory, so connect your positive wire to a positive terminal, negative wire to a negative terminal, then connect the single speaker wire set to corresponding terminals on amplifier and you're done.

If I remember right, the PDXs are regulated to put out the same rated power into either a 4 or 2 ohm load- that would mean a single voice coil sub (4 ohms) would have worked fine in your application. I'd say add a second of the same DVC sub if you really need to get the 4 ohm load, with two of them wired parallel/series, but they'd only see 500 watts RMS apiece in that scenario. Go ahead and try the 2 ohm load (specs say the amp's good for it), and call Alpine's Customer Service dept. should you experience the fuse problem as per Installer4life- if you bought the amp authorized, they'll take care of you.
