Jenson ISO MAX has a solution for that the VRD 1FF.http://www.jensen-transformers.com/iso_vid.html Or if you are handy with a soldering iron you can make an adapter with a couple of capacitors.

If it is a three prong power cord try one of those 99 cent cheater plugs and if that eliminates the hum break the third prong off of your power cord and wala no hum.

That third prong is there for a reason ,I would look to a better solution than defeating the safety ground.

GV#27 you are right. I should have included a little note that YMMV and it may be best as a temporary fix while a more permanent solution could be found.

    Sorry for the bad info.

Yeh Scott that is an oft used suggestion that may solve the problem but there are other ways.

Radio Shack has one for about $20. I hooked that up and connected a speaker wire from the chassis of my amp to the chassis of my AVR.

I bought one from PartsExpress for $10 shipped. Hopefully it does the trick.

Wish I would have bought there.

As I mentioned in my previous post, I also took speaker wire and connected it from the chassis of my amp to the chassis of my AVR. Did the trick for me.

Did you buy the Dayton VIT-1 Isolation Transformer, Part Number 180-075, for $8.40 at Parts Express? I did and it eliminated the hum. Hope it works for you.
