I've recently taken notice of the 2001 model Revel m-20 monitor loudspeaker. Not only do they look MUCH better than the new models (and imo anything else for that matter), but in used condidtion price is very reasonable - about the same price as the lsi7/9.

Power source will be my trusty Harman/Kardon Signature 2.1 - Bi-Amped, 300watts x2. For now, I plan on using my velo crossed over at 50/60hz.

Every review I've read said they're the best or near the best regardless of price. Mark, Jesse, Russ, Sid, etc.... or anyone else who has listened to these or other Revels could you please give me your impressions? thanks.

Ive heard these bad boy's and yes, they are that good. But they are intended for smaller rooms.Don't try and stick these in a large room that had floorstanders pumping away.Sound quality was shocking good for such a small box and I would have no problem living with these for many years.Couple with the B15 sub from revel and you have a kick **** system for movies or music.Grab them if the price is right, you won't be disapointed.

Andrew, I haven't heard that model, but I have listened to the Gem's with the Sub 15 powered by it's own massive amp. They were excellent. I've also listened to the Salon's, but the room set up was less than ideal. I think they'd sound much better than what I heard.

I think you should give the the M 20's a shot.

I would definitely look into a sub designed for music. Velo subs are good, but they are all about the SPL, and yes, pretty accurate being servo controlled, but there are some really musical subs out there. I don't AS much about subs as some of the guys here, but I know there are some really good ones designed for music.

I haven't had the pleasure, but in chatting with those who have, it definitely is a truly fine-sounding set of mini-monitors. A fine set of sand-filled stands and quality bargain cabling will make you quite happy.

BTW, what are your room measurements?

I'm using Revels in my system. Great sounding speakers. I've heard the newer version M22's and I thought they sounded really nice. Although I prefer floorstanders, the M20's with a good sub would sound pretty sweet. I think the B15 sub kinda looks like the M20's but bigger.:)
