sub recommendation for Surroundbar-50
I'm new to the forum and about to become a Polk owner. I am going to purchase an Onkyo SR-605 and Surroundbar-50. True surround-sound speakers are out due to wiring and installation difficulties-running wires up iinto the ceiling crawl space, cutting holes in the ceiling for flush-mount speakers. Surround speakers protruding beyond the surface are a no-no with the wife. she really likes the look of the black Surroundbar with our TV and furniture.
Amazon is offering $200 off any Polk subwoofer with a $500 speaker purchase, so I can get a subwoofer for free, or almost depending on which one I choose. This is going in a 'great room', the total size about 20x27 ft with 10 ft ceiling. My wife requests that the subwoofer be out of sight; it will be located in an open triangular space behind a love seat in the front of the room and 8-10 ft to one side of the Surroundbar. We don't need to feel the base like a movie theater. Thank you for your recommendations.

Welcome!, the Surroundbar is a TRES cool item. Congrats.
As far as the subs go, I'd look at the new DSW line, while I've not heard them, a couple of people whom I have great faith in, LOVE the new line. There is really no 'right' answer but I'd say any of them will be adequate...but I'd pick the biggest one that your space will accomodate.

Look around, if you have a question....we have 6 years of posts/threads archived to search from and if you can't find what you are looking for, ask away.
