Of that list, there are only two (Google and YouTube) I ever go to, and another two (hi5 and orkut) I didn't even know existed.

The de facto place to go for these things would be Alexa.

It looks like the list above is worldwide - the US only list is a bit more what I expected :

Uhm ... I would not say that Alexa is the 'de facto place to go to'. In fact, the data from Alexa is far from reliable given their limited data set.

I would rely on comscore as a MUCH more reliable source!

I'm normally against the grain, and would loathe a site like Google just because everyone else hates it, but I really do find it to be the best search engine out there. And now I see there's a way to create a home page there, so I get the best of both worlds.

****, I can't remember what I used before yahoo...webcrawler or go.com. That's going back ten years or better.

Well, it's a lot like people who thought they couldn't get on the internet without AOL.

I get why people use Yahoo and MSN, but it's just too much b.s. on a page for me. I have a list of favorites, which include all the news sources I am interested in. Other than that, Google is very customizable with very little clutter. Love it.
