That IS funny. You guys mention the Bose commercials -- they are all over TV. (I wonder what it would be like to work for a company with an actual marketing budget...) Can anyone see the floorstanding speakers that are shown right at the very beginning of the Bose commercial? What kind of speakers are they? Polk? (I wouldn't put it past em.)

BTW, those commercials are about 15 years old it seems. You'd think they'd update their look and technology, but I guess not.

Do you guys at Polk ever talk to Bose? A debate now and again?Perhaps a few crank phone calls?
I'll search for a Bose forum and see what they say when I post that comparison.

Perhaps Bose is like Oreos... when you've got it perfect, no need to update or improve.

I've admitted before, I owned a pair of 301s back in the 80s. I'd bought a pair of larger speakers mail order (anyone remember Wisconsin Discount Stereo?), traded them in at one of the two original Best Buy stores (for more than I paid for them), and bought the smaller 301s to take to college. Sold the 301s a couple years later for about 2/3 what I paid for them. They had "deceptive" bass response - it seemed to be stronger than the other speakers I was auditioning at the time (AR28, for example), but after owning them a little while I realized the bass was muddy and boomy.
