Please explain the difference between the CSR and CSI3 when paired with RTi8s.

I know the best match for my RTi8s in a center channel is the CSi3 or 5. But the CSR is 79 bucks at frys. If it's the high Hz response in CSI compared to the CSR then there would be no problem I can't hear them anyway but if its a loading problem then that will have to be dealt with.

The tweeter in the CSR is not a match for the RTi series. There will be a difference in the tonal signature of the speakers - now whether or not that will bug you - only you can answer that.

This is much like the thread the other day when someone was using a Cerwin Vega center with his R50s for the mains. The concensus of most is that it is important to match the speakers accross the front because as sound, dialog, etc... moves across the front soundstage there may be noticable differences if you don't use speakers with the same tonal qualities. Tweeters are especially important. Don't go cheap on the center. Get the center that matches your mains."Just because youre offended doesnt mean youre right." - Ricky Gervais

I agree -- get a CSi3.
I have R50s for fronts, and am SO glad I went with the CSR for the center (I was considering a smaller center, from a different Polk line). With my setup, the 3 front speakers sound like one giant speaker (but with sound shifting positions occasionally).Florida_Gator
