I realize there's not a big market here for this sort of thing, just thought I'd give it a shot. Need to make some space for the holidays. Local pickup only, please. They are advertised elsewhere but not this low.
**SOLD**The Advent/3 speakers. These are well-known for great bass response for the size (small) and a sweet tone. They work fine and sound good, only selling because I never use them. Cabs are so-so, one has a cigar burn on top and some moisture damage to a lower corner. Grills are undamaged other than a stain on one. $20 for the pair.**SOLD**
**SOLD**Pioneer SX-727 receiver. 40WPC, one of their earlier classics. Lovely wood cabinet, in great shape other than a couple scratches on the left side. Very well cared for. Works, although the tuner seems to be less sensative than I'd expect. A couple of the controls need cleaning. I don't have the spade connectors for the speakers but you can make your own or buy replacements. $30**SOLD**
**SOLD**Sony PS-FL9 turntable. This was one of those '80s tech statement units. Linear tracking, slide-out table, direct drive, electronic eye track reading, computerized track play programming (like a CD player), automatic whatever. Works but needs new rubber belts (off the shelf) for correct functioning. I used this as my main TT until about six years ago. Some scratches on the cabinet. I've seen these things go for crazy money on eBay in the past, not sure what it's worth in real life. Asking $65.**SOLD
Would consider trades.

Very cool stuff...I had that pioneer many moons ago as well as a sherwood that was almost identical in features and looks....nice stuffThe first rule of Fight Club is you don't talk about Fight Club

If they work fine...that's a steal for the Advents."SOME PEOPLE CALL ME MAURICE,
CAUSE I SPEAK OF THE POMPITIOUS OF LOVE" -
That Pioneer is a beauty! Great sound for just a couple of dinars.Carl

It's all nice, wish I could keep it. My hifi gear collection reached the high-water-mark some time around a year ago. The amount of stuff I had was unhealthy and I was suffering under the weight of owning it all. Before anyone makes cracks about no such thing as too much, trust me, there is.
Since then I've been liquidating everything, but there's a ways to go. Soon I'll be selling off my four matched McIntosh speakers, a six-piece CSW passive surround set, and various other components. -
That is one NEAT looking turntable!Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2

I'm sure this stuff would go quickly on AudioKarma."He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." Friedrich Nietzsche
-
It's going there soon, I have more stuff I'm getting together for an ad run.

I had no idea. I'll be sure not to list anything there.
They'd get more traffic overall if people didn't have to pay for ads. I'd rather just pay the extra dollar to list items on Audiogon.
Edited for sake of thread -
Advents are nice little performers at a good price, and the LAST thing in the world that Dave (Grumpy) might be, is greedy. The last thing.

I've never had any trouble with AK ads or moderators. Nearly everything I've posted there has sold pretty quickly, in contrast with about a 50% rate on Craigslist or so far 0% here. To people used to free everything on the internet, the $2/ad fee might seem excessive, but a lot of boards operate in similar ways with classified posts or multiple levels of membership.
You guys can debate this all you want, just take it out of the Flea Market . -
There's no debate. AK doesn't badmouth this forum in any way, shape, or form. That should be re-paid in kind.
Whatever system is in place over there, is the system in place. I don't think anybody at AK is getting rich running it. -
The dynamic on AK is not the same here....that's how forums go, and the subsequent Flea Markets are no exception. I can't think of a better, mucho active, vintage forum than AK.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Pioneer receiver has been sold.
-
Advents have been sold.
Anyone need a unique turntable? The Sony freaks online usually are hot after stuff like this. -
Are you willing to ship the Sony?
-
I think I'd like to explore all local possibilities before shipping it.
