Dogs and Home Theater

Hi
I have finally gotten my system up and running the way I wanted!
I have come to notice that I like playing my movies and music with a lot of base and was wondering if this would hurt my golden retriever in any way? There's only the two of us in the house and when she's outside it's not a concern. But in the evenings when I'm watching movies she always right by my side.
I'm thinking of asking my vet also, but was wondering if any of you had any thoughs or experiences on this?
Thanks
Sammi

Doesn't really bother either of my 2 dogs. However, if it does, they usually just move to another room in the house.Oh, you hate your job? Why didn't you say so? There's a support
group for that. It's called EVERYBODY, and they meet at the bar.

There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."

Willow will sometimes lie down in front of the sub when we watch movies. If she finds it to loud she'll move. She usually sleeps throught the movie till a dog barks or the sound of a door bell.....the it's all hell....

My golden sat/slept in the middle of the room during my Live Free or Die Hard viewing Sunday afternoon. I listen as loud as a theater and he wasn't bothered enough to get up. I assume if it bothers him - he'll go to another room.
PS - That movie had a lot of low frequency throughout.Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Friend. -
My Bulldog fell asleep on the couch and began to snore when we watched Casino Royale. I can't blame him, I fell asleep also...
Venom -
Only if you enclosed him inside the subwoofer.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Dogs are funny when it comes to heavy bass and test tones...regular dialog or movie sounds dont seem to matter whatsoever. The first rule of Fight Club is you don't talk about Fight Club

Six dogs here and they don't seem to care. They either sleep or move to another room.

the only time my dogs seem bothered is when I am playing COD4 and someone throws a flash bang. It's a really high pitch noise that catches there attenion. Otherwise they don't care.My Home Theater (WIP):

Welcome to the forum. My German Shepherd will lay just a few feet away from the subs, doesn't seem to bother her at all.

Thanks for the replies so far!
I think I may still run it by the vet next time we are there though...may check with my Doctor too...perhaps it's to loud for me :-P

My dog stays away. My cat likes to sit on my SVS PCI25-31 during movies.
I haven't figured out why. Bass freak?"The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbour to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg." --Thomas Jefferson -
On large explosions, one of my two dogs will go sniff the sub. The other one doesn't care and will sleep through it all. They both will lookup if my speakers transmit the sound of dogs barking and they'll both look at the TV during 101 Dalmations.
If I play Diana Krall, they both go to sleep. -
one of my two dogs will go stiff the sub
