Lack of information????

Do any one know what are the crossover points of the new RTiA line?
Personally I think that the RTi line "problem" was that the crossover points where too low so music sound with out punch and a little bight.
Also is just me or the specifications on the site are lacking. I mean if you look the RTiA line there is no mention of crossover points, the power of the amplifiers(DSW subwoofers), and no Frequency Response charts, and almost no reviews anywhere of they new products, is almost impossible to find a review of for example of the RTi line, the only reviews are from the LSI line from almost 5 years ago... (I feel that the reviews of the monitor line are a joke, they are more like a users opinions) Do any one feel like Polk is staying begin... By the way I own a Rti12 with a 250 watts rms amp, but feel that polk is loosing “passion” so I start looking for other brands and I am amaze of how complete the information, reviews, and specification they have with respect of Polk speakers.

I am sure you could get the information you want by calling Polk customer service. Either way though, aren't you purchasing the entire product not just the crossover? (unless you plan to tranplant a new crossover into an existing pair of Polk RTi speakers.)

If you really want to know if the RTiA's sound is better than the RTi speakers they replace - I would have to recommend listening to them and deciding that way rather than looking at a crossover frequency and deciding from that if the sound has changed.

The frequency charts appear to be there for the subs, but you are correct - I do not see the amp specs on it. While I would agree that the amp wattage can be very misleading for subwoofers, they should at least state an avergage max SPL for their subs are throughout their stated -3db range. (much more complete picture than just a wattage figure)

I would rate "passion" as developing a speaker that sounds great, not getting a speaker reviewed by major magazines on a regular basis or posting crossover points. Based on that, I do not thing Polk has lost their passion for speakers at all. Most of their current products are a good step forward and sound great for the price.

The reason I am interested in the crossover point is because when you select the RTi12 with a receiver and set the crossover around 80hz (THX recommendation) the woofers in the rti12 almost no produce sound (only the 80 to 120hz) in fact, for me, the RTi12 sounds better when you select "no sub" in the receiver. So I think that a higher crossover point lets say 200hz will produce the mid-bass information with more authority. But I agree that normally it is not important to know the crossover points of the speakers, but for me that will help me in the future.
Know, what I say the lack of "passion" of Polk I didn’t mean with the design or the fabrication of the speakers, I am talking about the presentation of their products in their website. I think that the internet is a very important tool for the promotion and information, (most of the retail stores have a very little technical knowledge of the products they sale) and I do not think that a complete list of specifications, frequency charts, or high resolution pictures are very hard to do. That is important to me because that will help me to find the product that I want, and later to do the audition and make up my mind. And the reviews are important because some times you do not have access to a lot of options (For example I do not live in USA) and that can help me to find the characteristics that I am looking for.

Why would you own RTi12's and use an 80hz crossover? The speakers are rated to 30hz at the 3db downpoint.

Seems like 40Hz might be a better point for the RTi12's if you've got a good sub.
