I am new to the thread. I am currently setting up my family room. I will be spliting my listening 60/40 movie surround sound to listening to music ratio.
It is a must that I use in wall speakers. I have chosen the LC265I in walls (4)with the LCI-C center. Any suggestions on the ideal reciever.
Many Thanks!!!

Welcome Dell!
Unless you get a receiver that can drive 4ohm speakers (which cost a lot of money) you would have to get a receiver that has preamp outputs for separate amplification. Most receivers are spec'd to drive 8ohm speakers.
In other words, the usual brands of Denon, Onkyo, Yamaha, Pioneer, etc. are not really going to cut it,
How much money are you allotting to spend on a receiver?Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2 -
Hopefully $1200 or less???!!!

Welcome. Should be able to grab something decent for that price. Agreed as above on the preouts.Michael
In the beginning, all knowledge was new!

Get this amplifier or the equivelent thereof & get the receiver of your choice so long as it has preamp outputs.

I'm not really sure. Look at B & K, Rotel, Sunfire, Outlaw Audio.Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2

For $999.00 right now, Outlaw has the 970/7075 combo on sale. I think this is the best deal out right now.Michael

It is a good deal, but the Outlaw 970 has "no sound" problems and is unstable. But the 990 is very reliable and has better sonic performance. If you give them a call, they may cut you a deal on the 990. But, I would stay away from the 970......I traded mine in for the 990 during the 30 day trial period. That is another option. Getting an Outlaw 990 prepro & a 5 channel 200wpc amp also from Outlaw or from Audiogon to save some bucks.Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2
