So whose in for the Potter movies in Hi Def. I went ahead and ordered the remaining 4 from the UK since I imported Goblet of Fire. Watched the 1st of the series tonight and the PQ/SQ was very good. I paid 120 shipped to me in Japan, which wasnt to bad I guess, considering the weak dollar exchange rate.

Note* Picture was taken with my 4mp cellphone cam, and dont mind the table mats.

    No, it's on both.

I want to get the import too so I can get the proper titles and verbage. I haven't been able to find out if the Canadian edition of Philosopher's Stone will have a different cover than the European and Japanese versions though, because I really don't like that one.

Just watched Order of the Pheonix and will definitely say you guys are in for a huge treat. The PQ and SQ should receive a perfect 5 out of 5, its just that good. This is definitely going to be one to show off your HD DVD setup.

Seems the HD version of this movie got the thumbs up over the BD version according to High Def Digest http://hddvd.highdefdigest.com/1122/harrypotter_orderofthephoenix.html. I'll be purchasing all of them via HD-DVD next week hopefully.

    Awesome! Nice grab!

I figure I'll wait until the last movie comes out and buy the then "special" 8 disk BR or HD-DVD set.

Although it got an extra half a star overall, each one had their pros and cons according to their review.

    HD-DVD
Even better for HD DVD fans, this next-gen edition of the flick exceeds its Blu-ray counterpart when it comes to high-def exclusives, boasting a unique In-Movie Experience track and several web-enabled features.

    Blu-Ray
Alas, all here is not perfect, with the Blu-ray version boasting a superior standard supplements package that features full 1080p video and a 44-minute TV special that didn't make cut on this HD DVD.

Well, picked up my HD-DVD set of Harry Potter today, X-mas present to myself. I ended up getting the Limited Edition Collectors set which I wanted to buy them seperately do to the fact that there are still 2 more movies to be directed but the suitcase looking holder seemed to be designed to incorporate the last 2 films, either way, it was $30 cheaper for the Limited Edition set then buying them seperately and also got a bunch of little extras for no additional cost.

No, I need to buy it! Maybe I will today. I took my 7 year old to see the movie in the theater and it was a bit to much for him I think. He didn’t outwardly seem to have problems with the movie but he mentioned just yesterday that he had nightmares about Voldamort in that movie.

Have to agree, it's pretty insane, just wish the battle was longer.

I agree it was an awesome scene, but one thing bugs me about that. In the book Dumbledore seems alot more calm & confident and always in control than he was in the movie. In all my favorite movie series there are charaters that are old, wise & very powerful but when they are in a fight scene, the directors never seem to let the charaters live up to the "all mighty" vision that you had of them I guess. Like when Yoda fights dooku & the emperor, and the scene in the extended version of Return of the king when Gandalf & the witch king meet & the witch king breaks his staff( which also never even happend in the books).

If Richard Harris was still Dumbledore, he would've whooped Voldamort's ****, no doubt about it. But, whoever this new Dick York Dumbledore is, he's no Richard Harris, so they have to lower his powers.

My thoughts exactly, just wishing it was a tad bit longer. Other than that, it was a kick a$$ scene. This one is very good demo material.

I got the HD-DVD of Order of the Phoenix Friday and took it for a spin. Damn, big time LFE track; much more bass than I was expecting. I think the part in the beginning where he's taken to the Order's secret base, and they expand the townhouses was some of the most serious bass I've ever experienced.
