Go ahead and laugh
I'm hoping to someday (hopefully soon) put together a modest 2-channel system. I see how everyone here sings the praises of SDA's, but how do they compare to the Rti 8 or 10? To buy the SDA's will require a lot of patience to find a "local" seller at the right price. Of course the time is right to buy the Rti's if that is the route to go. I guess the bottom line is this: Will my patience be rewarded for waiting for a pair of SDA's?
Or I could just keep move my R50's to my HT and use my Lsi7's for music (saving myself $300-400):)

You are trying to compare apples to oranges. If I had to choose, I would take the LSi's over everything else.Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2

LSis would be better for music... that is for sure, than RTi, but SDAs, from what I understand, can be magical. Hard to use those in HT though...
I would get the LSis. -
Dunno if this if what you're looking for

PSOVLSK, I have both LSi's and SDA's, and they are quite different. Different strengths. Some music is better on the SDA's and some better on LSi's. Overall I do prefer the LSi's.
If you like, an audition in Dallas area could possibly be arranged. -

I really meant this as a joke, but from the feedback I've gotten I guess this is a viable option.
jayman: Those are what I'm looking for, but I've got to get rid of a few things to fund the purchase...unless I found a crazy deal. I saw a pair of these on craigslist for $150, but it was in New Hampshire, which is quite a road trip from Texas.
Sami: I might take you up on the offer. I'll shoot you a pm if I decide to do so and the offer is still good. Thanks.Things work out best for those who make the best of the way things work out.-John Wooden -
Sami's got the dual experience, but comparing LSi7s to SDAs is definitely apples and oranges...15s maybe a better comparison. I had RTi8s and thought they were excellent speakers for HT and very good for music. SDA 1Cs are in another league for 2 channel and wonderful fronts for HT. I'd love to hear some 15s here, but I'm not going to give up my SDAs for the opportunity. They come up fairly often in your area, but I doubt you'd keep the RTis once you heard SDAs.

deal at $200.00. Just search "polk sda" on CL and this guys list of stuff comes up.

I had 7's as my mains before I got 15's, they are very, very good with a nice sub taking care of the lows. I definitely would prefer 7's over my 1C's on many records (especially The Doors who sound phenomenal on LSi's). Then there are records where the SDA's wide sound stage provides better experience. All IMO of course.

I've been looking at the Dallas craigslist, but I searched "Polk Audio" and didn't see them. I might be able to pay $200 without selling other stuff to fund it if these are still available. Unfortunatley I can't find out because craigslist is filtered on my office computer. Thanks for the heads-up.Things work out best for those who make the best of the way things work out.-John Wooden -

do that to start, then try other things down the road. to me, audio is a journey, gotta try different stuff to see what you like. the LSi7's are sweet if there powered right (and in a smaller room). Never owned them but have heard them in my travels. I currently use the LSi line in my theater, and will not be upgrading anytime soonLiving Room 2 Channel -
