My wife bought the kids a Wii the other day for Xmas. Ran about $250. Of course she didn’t know that you gotta buy more stuff for it like controllers. I just made a trip to CC and it cost me $300 more bucks to get setup for all 4 of us to play. 4 controllers, 4 numb chucks, 2 charger bases and Paper Mario. That and I’m not done (probably need that wireless thumb stick, special cables and such). This thing at this point costs just about the same price it took me to get my PS3 up and running.
To boot, it will only be hooked up to my older 27” Sony SD TV (Component).

Ouch man, I could have just bought a new 2nd PS3 with the 40 gig drive for my Sony HDTV upstairs…

Its just to bad the PS3 doesn’t really offer anything great for a 7 and 5 year old.

So the total now:

Games: Paper Mario, Olympics and Mario Universe $150
Controllers and accessories: $250
Game system $250

Still need Pokemon game so my son can link his DS with it.

    it's called accessorize! ;)

you don't need more than 2 nunchucks, though, since boxing can only be done by two players. :)
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

I've had one since July and love it, but I might throw it up on the bay to make a little off of it. They have been going for over $300 used.

Well, if the system was 1080p HD I would but I still have plans to get 2 40 inch Samsung LCD's down in the media room so that I don’t have to use the projector all the time for things like playing the PS3 (music or games) or Wii a lot. Right now it kills me when I fire up the PS3 and listen to music because the projector might be on for 2 hours just displaying the PS3 playing music. That’s not cheap on bulbs :)

Price on E-bay is already over $400. Time to sell is NOW! (before Nintendo releases more for last minute Christmas rush).

I went to Wal-mart at 6:30 am and they did not have any but the truck was arriving later in the day. My father-in-law went back later and waited around for awhile and got one for us to give to our children for X-mas. I am kind of getting excited now that I have read some of what you others have been posting, sounds like fun. I hope the kids will like it.

Wow...just a couple of weeks ago, they were only325 tops. No worries about flooding before xmas. Stores have not been able to keep them on the shelves for a day since spring.

Looks like the ones with 14 games are going for over 400. I dont have that, but I do have the extra controllers and nuncheks.

Looks like its almost time to say bye-bye to this one. Will buy a new one after xmas :D

I have, I mean the kids have a PS2 that they got for X-mas a couple of years ago but they don't us it that often. My boy and I play some hockey on it and box once and a while but they were not that interested in many of the games that were offered. It sounds like all of us will enjoy the Wii. I can't wait for X-mas.

just got my hands on a system today. What a nightmare getting this thing. They were all sold out here but I managed to get one from someone coming here from the USA. Paid 50 bucks extra but oh well, Wal-Mart is selling them for 677.00 so 300 bucks was a deal. Kids love it, so Im happy. Woooo Hoooo. My quest for finding this thing is over.

I was able to score one for Chrismas too.

We even found guitar hero III just by luck - Target got 5 in and in 20 minutes they were down to the last one and the wife grabbed it. I gotta say, that is one really fun game. It sucks that the oldest daughter and my wife kick the hell out of me on it.

We had people over for Christmas dinner and afterwards we settled in for some Wii sports. It's a lot of fun for the whole family. Now who did I buy this for?
