believe it or not, i have a large collection of laser discs. mostly concerts that i cannot find on dvd. i still have a pioneer ld player that i play them through. my question is does anyone else collect these dinosaurs? and, if i buy a dvd recorder, will the copy lose any video or audio quality?

I still have an LD player and probably 25 or so films. Mostly classical performances, which honestly I don't think I've watched in years. But I stuck with the format because cool stuff sometimes pops up on LD-only.

Actually, a friend of mine is a hardcore lunatic collector. LaserDisc, Selectavision, etc. Massive archives of stuff. I know he's been making DVD backups of everything, I'll have to see what setup he's using currently.

I have a LD player and backed up almost everything in my library. No loss in video quality but the DVD recorder does only Dolby Digital audio. I would prefer linear PCM.
