what are they , and how does it effect the sound ?

I have the Cary F1 SLP 98 and I am getting some tubes to roll in her...

I was told that the two in the middle (line stage) is where the rubber meets the raod (so to speak)....

how important are the other two, and how do they effect the sound ?

I want to put two different tubes in each side, but not sure which ones would work best..

Is this a bad idea ?

example of layout;

it won`t let me lay it out right....(webpage):mad:

    Sonic Frontiers and Anthem have generally been mu-follower or cathode follower arrays.

    CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

    I`m sure you follow what I`m thinking of...

    Popes in the back (cathode), Hytron in the front (line)...or visa versa

    what do you think ?

    because of the cost of getting two sets of tubes right now, I thing a set of each would work, but if they are not all the same, I may be getting a mixed signal , either way I go...
