Open it up and look. No one here can tell you what is causing the noise in your speaker.

a speaker rttle can be a cakewalk to a pain in the nuts in my eyes. I'm going to assume its when there is something bassy in what your playing, and the mid woofs vibrations are making something in the cab vibrate.

go simple first and tighten all the driver screws (they can loosen over time)

if that doesnt work, at lease press on the ends of the drivers (the housing where it mounts to the cab, not the driver itself) and see if pressing on various points makes he vibrations go away. if it does, ut tightening the screws didnt work, your probably going to need to throw to speaker gasket on (between the driver and the cab)

focus on finding what is vibrating. ae you sure something else in the room isnt vibrating? My AR9's in my 2 channel make one part of the room vibrate that for a 2 hr period I could swear was the cabinet.

long story short, look and listen closely, and isolate where the vibration is.

if you gotta go in the cab, dont panic. its no big whoop. pop screws on a midbass driver and pull it out (if it gives you grief, use a slotted screwdriver to GENTLY pry it) but the RTi series drivers usually just plop out in my experience. then feel around inside the cab for anything loose (again GENTLY)

Definately open it up and look. Screwdrivers are easy to use, especially with a phillips head.

Let us know the findings....maybe a rodent snuck in or something.

shack, i wasn't looking for someone to give me an exact diagnosis but i was hoping someone with more knowledge and experience would have some sort of idea as to what to even check for. thanks guys, i will give it a whirl and see what i find. and yes it is definitely inside the cabinet. even at a minimal volume if i press my ear up to the top of the cabinet i can hear it rattle inside. its only when i juice it pretty good does it become noticeable from my listening position

The midbasses on that speaker do not use screws to hold them in --

It uses the baffle to sunction them

So it sounds like the baffle is loose...

so i opened it up and was feeling around inside..nothing seemed out of place..nothing loose. i found a packing peanut that had somehow found its way up into the cabinet so i figured that was it..hooked it back up and i still get the rattle..so im back in and cant seem to find anything wrong..only thing i can think of is maybe the wires inside are vibrating against the cabinet?? VMX how do i make sure baffle isnt loose?

opened it up again and this time found a stink bug snug between the bottom driver cone and the metal chassis that holds it..but still not the cause..i have no idea now
