I thought someone else may need this info because I often see posts about SPL meters and how to set them up.

I was reading my manual for a Onkyo TX-SR805 and right in the manual it says to "adjust the level of each speaker so that it reads 75dB SPL at the listening position, measured with C-weighting and slow response"

Wow, way to go for whoever wrote my manual. I've read this manual 5x and never say that little section.

Hope everyone had a good turkey day.

Well just tried out my Radio Shack SPL and this is what I ended up with after calibration. LF= 0, C= -3, RF= 0 and Sub is -7.

My LF/RF are about 11ft from listening position and Center is about 11.5 and above TV probably 3 feet above listening position but angled down. The sub is right behind LF and that's the only place it can go.

Does this seem about right? The sub at -7 seems awfully low. Love to get some feedback

Well, you could always turn the sub's level control down and the receiver up to get it to reference to "0" if that's what you're after.
