RTi10 Temptation!

I was originally looking to piece together an entry level Polk system, such as the R50s as fronts. Now I am tempted by a Tweeter ad for tomorrow with the Rti10s on sale, buy one get one free for $479.99. I know it's a big jump, but... Family room is 12x12 in a townhome. Will the RTi10s be overpowering? Thanks!

I currently own a pair of RTI10's. There's no such thing as overpowering, I also saw the ad at Tweeter, that's a good price :). Just make sure you got an amp to make those babies happy!

I saw this too, I wonder how many they have. I currently have RTi6's, and figure it can't hurt to go to the RTi10's.

Has their price come down or is this just an amazing price? $479 for TWO RTi10's is hard to pass up.

Keep in mind, this is a speaker based upon HT and not 2 channel listening. If you like music bright, this is your speaker. Happy shopping.

Keep in mind, that the "bright" speaker comment is an opinion.

I would take advantage of the price breaks on the RTi series since there is a new series being introduced.

Treitz - Your comment is valid and important. I feel what your saying on the RTi tweeter issue but it's all over the place in regards to overall reaction. We're all critical here....and for a reason but also the minority in the big picture.

If they're happy, let them be happy....you know what I mean?

dude, thats a phenomenal price for the 10's 479 for the pair?, NO BRAINER

get em, while they will sound beter with seperate amplification, it's not a Defcon 1 emergency like it is with the LSi's. get the speakers, worry about powering them better later. This hobby never ends once your bit, and you'll be looking at seperate amps on EBAY and Audiogon in due time, there not going anywhere..lol

I bought RTi10s at a similar price (about $515 shipped for a pair). Now they are amazing speakers...but unless you pay almost a grand for a good amp to drive them they virtually no benefit over RTi6's + sub. I'm bi-amping mine right now with a cheap amp and my receiver...the results are good...but again, I believe anyone buying these should invest in a solid 200wpc high current amp from adcom or rotel (~400 for an old, old, old used model or 1200-ish for a new one).

Enjoy the speakers! Down the road you might want to try an external amp and see if you notice a difference. I definitely did with my 10's. It depends on what receiver you have now.

With all of the great sales lately I now own a pair of 8's, 10's and 12's. Now to do some testing to see which ones I want to keep and sell the others.

3 weeks ago, I got a pair of 10s at Frys for $247 each and a CSi5 for $200. Wicked!

Dont worry about not getting a free sub. There will be a reason why they are free! With the 10's you just need a sub to provide the deep bass ie 20-60 (ish) Hz. Economy subs sometimes dont even start until 35 Hz and arent really worth it with the 10's
