what is the breaking point for power with the dx tweeters... since i've no clue what the actual power is going to them from the xover, lets look at it as "how much power --cleanly-- can you put into the crossover network" and not hurt the tweeter.
I've been doing about 130-140ish and the woofer is fine with an 85 hertz xover, but the tweets 'seem' just a little off (teh sound itself is the same, they just sort of 'fade away' at higher volumes --- i asked a couple of my friends to listen to it and they believe it sounds perfectly fine -- i'm wondering if maybe my hearing is just going bad.
also - is the ex III tweeter a suitable replacement for a dx tweeter (if i still use the same woofer)? or should i look for a set of momo tweets ((( only doing like 75 wrms into the xover)))--- my grandfather has the 5 1/4 inch dx comps in his truck and he wont tell me exactly what he did but one of the tweeters looks like a sandwich now -- i think he knocked it off the dash (had them velcro-ed up there) and got it stuck in the door jamb when he shut it).
