Really how will the monitor 40's on 2 foot stands sound as rears with moniter 60s as fronts in a small room(14x16x8) they will be paired with a sub so bass is definately not an issue but im wondering if the monitor 30s are just as good if not better

the monitor 30s would be sitting on my 19" end tables but i am worried about the difference in the power handling between the 40s and the 30s because i am planning on upgrading my AVR setup to an Emotiva pre-amp/amp setup in the future. Also i am "Attempting" to match the tweeter heights all the way around the room except for my center channel(**** entertainment center at the moment)The monitor 40s will alloww me to do this on 24" speaker stands the monitor 30's will not unless i mount them to the wall . Am I just getting to ridiculous or will this really affect my sound The main use is for HT

First off...you gotta get those surrounds up higher. Unless you watch movies lying on your back on the floor....they are too low. You should try to get them at least a foot higher than your head height. 3 Feet is ideal though. I used Monitor 30's for awhile as surrounds and was quite impressed with them. Decent speaker for the price. I then went to monitor 40's for surround and liked them better. I felt there was better presence and more dynamics. In comparison..the 30's were quite a bit thinner sounding and a little hollow compared to the 40's.
